Wooden Dummy Techniques
Over 2,000 years ago, the monks of China’s Shaolin Temple were already using this intelligent training tool to enhance their martial arts education. According to legend, the Southern Shaolin Temple in Fujian invented this artificial training partner.
The Wooden Dummy is a training tool that integrates the attack techniques, hand techniques, footwork, and leg techniques from the three Wing Chun forms: Siu Nim Tau, Chum Kiu, and Biu Ji. It fully embodies Wing Chun’s combat awareness and fighting methods.
Made of wood, the Wooden Dummy is equipped with arms and legs and allows for slight movement (elasticity), serving as a simulated opponent for practice. It strengthens the hardness of the hands at the contact points, enhances the overall coordination of the body, and improves footwork agility.
